Geberit Plants 272 Trees in 2024, Paving the Way for a Greener Future

Geberit’s commitment to sustainability is truly commendable. In 2024, the leading bathroom manufacturer took significant action by planting 272 trees, marking an important step in their ongoing efforts to reduce their environmental footprint. This initiative was specifically aimed at offsetting the CO2 emissions generated from business travel—a key aspect of their broader strategy to combat climate change. By investing in nature and supporting reforestation, Geberit is not only addressing the environmental impact of their operations but also demonstrating leadership in corporate responsibility.

The Gray Dawes Legacy Program

Gray Dawes Legacy Badge

Partnering with Gray Dawes Travel and Forest Carbon through the LEGACY carbon offsetting program, these trees have found a new home in Tom’s Wood, Foston, Yorkshire. But the green revolution doesn't stop there—more trees are set to be planted in Sarah’s Wood, Widdrington, this year. The LEGACY program empowers businesses to minimise their environmental footprint by converting travel data into carbon credits.

Each carbon credit signifies the permanent removal or avoidance of one tonne of CO2e, achieved through impactful sustainability projects across the UK, including tree planting, woodland creation, and peatland restoration. In Sarah’s Wood, this initiative will enhance local biodiversity, providing a thriving habitat for red squirrels and various bird species.

Christine Morris at Geberit, remarked: “While virtual communication is vital, face-to-face meetings are crucial for nurturing our stakeholder relationships. Sustainable travel has been a priority for us, and the Gray Dawes LEGACY program has been a rewarding solution. We are incredibly proud that our carbon credits support key sustainability projects nationwide. This program aligns perfectly with our environmental values, and we remain dedicated to fostering a greener industry, society, and future.”
