Project overview

Rockliffe Hall is a multi-million pound, 375-acre development of a luxury five-star hotel, spa and championship golf course in Huworth, near Darlington, situated adjacent to the Middlesbrough FC training ground. The historic Rockliffe Hall, a run-down 19th Century mansion, was sensitively converted and authentically renovated and refurbishedto create a luxury 63-bedroom hotel. Given a brief to design beautiful yet functional public washrooms for the state-of-the-art resort, Urban Projects called on the expertise of Geberit to help meet the demands of the project.

Why Geberit?

Throughout the complex, designers chose Geberit Duofix urinal frames with infra-red flush controls, as these complied with the brief on every level, from design and functionality through to water conservation and style. For a luxurious finish, Geberit Mambo infra-red flush plates in brushed stainless steel were chosen.

Head of Utopia Projects, Ian Dutch, said: “We wanted to have a product in these areas in which each urinal had its own individual flushing system and the Geberit product was very flexible. The programming options available meant that our client could make significant water savings as well as offering a hygienic and pleasant washroom environment.

“Another major benefit of the Geberit urinal systems is that they can be battery and mains powered so, even if the mains fails, the urinals will continue to flush.”
