Employee TestimonialsHannah Arundale, key account advisor

Hannah Arundale

What was your path to Geberit?

I previously worked for a debt collections company, but I was looking for a more positive workplace. I therefore updated my CV and started applying for jobs and posting my CV online, when I was then approached by a recruitment agency who made me aware of the current opportunities at Geberit. I immediately jumped at the opportunity, and after an interview with the Customer Support Manager, I started at Geberit 4 weeks later and haven’t looked back!

What are the roles you’ve held at Geberit?

When I started at Geberit I was working as a Key Account Advisor, on a temporary contract, covering a team member's maternity leave. I was then advised that my contract would be made permanent, as the Key Account Team was being expanded to four team members. I am therefore now a permanent team member of the Key Account team within Commercial Services.

What's your team dynamic like?

Our team dynamic is, in my opinion, perfect! We support each other where/when required, and complete our work to the highest standard possible, whilst also having fun and a laugh throughout the day. Our team leader supports us whenever needed, but gives us the space to grow as individuals and make our own decisions.

How would you describe your time here so far?

Very simply - like a breath of fresh air. I love my job!

What do you enjoy most about your role here?

Relationship building! In my role, I get to speak with a wide range of people from different departments within Geberit, our customers externally, and anyone in-between. In the year I have been here, I’ve made some really strong working relationships with some of the sales team I work closely with, and my main contacts at our various key account customers. I have also been able go out to both BSS and Robert Lee for visits, which has further strengthened these relationships. I really enjoy this side of my job, and I have found that as the relationships I have built get stronger, the more smoothly things seem to run day to day.

What's the best thing you have achieved here?

So far I would say the best thing I have achieved whilst working at Geberit is a huge amount of personal growth. My confidence in particular has grown massively, which is mainly down to the help and support of my manager and team leader who have guided/supported me, whilst also giving me the push needed to believe in myself in certain situations I have faced.

What are the big opportunities ahead for you and your team?

Some big opportunities ahead for me and the team I am part of include visits to our customers within the UK and Ireland. This helps to build our relationships with our customers whilst also being able to see first-hand the issues they face and how they work day to day. There is also the possibility of going to visit our location in Pfullendorf, Germany, where we would get to see some of the production processes undertaken there and have a tour around the site.

What lessons have you learned along the way?

Having had previous poor work experiences, the main lesson I have learned since working at Geberit is that there are companies that have a positive working environment, where you are supported and your skills developed, without being micro-managed. I have also learned how to adapt myself more to different situations/customer’s needs, and through dealing with many different customers I have quickly learnt that ‘one size fits all’ does not apply in my role.

What would you say to someone who’s not sure if they should apply to Geberit?

Take the chance! You never know what is around the corner, but if you work for Geberit your voice will be heard, and you will be welcomed as part of a huge family, no matter which team you are part of.

What’s the one piece of advice you could offer to job seekers looking to join your team?

Do not get overwhelmed, starting a Geberit can seem very daunting (at least it did for me), there is a lot to learn in our team and a lot of people to speak with/get to know. As long as you are willing to give 100% and believe in yourself/the team, you really will excel.
